How to Troubleshoot a Beacon
Objective
- To better understand how to troubleshoot location beacons

Procedure
Room Verification
Room Verification can be used to verify a relay device is in the correct indoor location. It is recommended to run this verification at the beginning of your beacon installation.
- Log into the Relay Pro App on your phone
- Grab a Relay Device
- Walk to the center of the room where you are testing a beacon
- Open the app and navigate to the Account Tab
- Tap Manage Buildings
- Select the Floor
- Tap on the room you are testing
- Tap Verify
- Tap Room Verification
- You will be promoted to pick a Relay to scan with, choose the device you have and tap Scan with this Relay
- Tap Start Test
- The test can take up to 60 seconds
- If beacon verifies, tap Test Again, and move to different positions in the room (near the exterior wall, in the bathroom, near the door)
- If verification fails, test 1-2 more locations in the room. if failure persist, reach out to our support team. For information on contacting our support team, reference this article.
Beacon Check
Beacon Check feature can be used to ensure your location beacons are still broadcasting and in range.
- Log into the Relay Pro App on your phone
- Walk to the center of the room where you are testing a beacon
- Open the app and navigate to the Account Tab
- Tap Manage Buildings
- Select the Floor
- Tap on the room you are testing
- Tap Verify
- Tap Beacon Check
- Tap Start Scanning
- Verify that the # of beacon in the room matches the # of beacons reporting
- If there are beacons missing after running the beacon check, reach out to our support team. For information on contacting our support team, reference this article.
- Tap Done
