How Do Automatic Firmware Updates Work on Relay+ Devices?

Answer

  1. Relay devices automatically download and install firmware updates with Over-The-Air Updates (OTAs) as they become available
  2. Device OTAs include new features, bug fixes and building blocks for future releases
  Best practice is to keep your fleet of devices updated on the latest firmware at all times via OTAs
  1. Over-The-Air Updates will install overnight if the following criteria is met
    1. Battery level is greater than 20%
    2. Device is not in Panic Mode
    3. Device is charging
If the only condition not met is the device was not charging, the next time it begins charging, following a 60s wait, it will proceed to install the update.
