Setting up a Geofence

Geofences are a great way to keep track of where your Relays are going. With Goefences, you will be able to see when a Relay leaves a certain location by setting up a virtual barrier. Once the Relay breaks that barrier, a notification will be sent to your App profile and a location history event will appear in Dash.

Geofences in Dash

To set up a geofence in Dash, log into your account and select the "Location" tab at the far right and then select "Geofence Admin" Below that.

Once here, you will see any geofences that have been previously established. If you haven't set up a geofence, this page will state that no geofences have been created yet. At the far right, you will see the option to create a geofence.

Select that and a setup wizard will appear and guide you through the geofence setup.

First, you will be prompted to search for your address. When searching for your address, a list of autocomplete address will appear below the search bar. Select the address you wish to use for your geofence.

Once you have selected your address, Dash will validate the address and then a map with a radius will appear. Here, you can set the geofence's radius from 40 meters to 500 meters. You can also move the goefence by dragging the map around so the center of the geofence is exactly where you want it (note: If you move the geofence from it's original position, the address may no longer appear correctly depending on where the center of the geofence is located. Geofences also cannot overlap with other geofences).

Once you have the geofence to the size and location you wish, hit submit. You will then be prompted to name the goefence. Please us a unique name for the geofence to avoid confusion with other geofences that you may wish to setup.
