How to Initiate a Panic

Objective

  1. To better understand how to initiate a panic on a Relay Device and in the Relay Pro App

Environment / Applies To

  1. Relay Devices 
  2. Relay Pro App
  3. Relay Essentials, Pro, and Enterprise Plans

Procedure 

Initiating a Panic on a Relay Device 

  1. Tap the talk button on the Relay rapidly at least 5 times
  2. The initiating device will receive an audible message informing them that the panic has been initiated and the LED lights around the Talk button will start spinning orange 
  3. The designated Group will then receive an alert that the device has initiated a panic
    1. This alert will include the name, and if Indoor Location is enabled, the nearest location detail

Initiating a Panic in the Relay Pro App 

  1. Open the Relay Pro App 
  2. Tap the Channels Tab 
  3. Tap Initiate Panic 
  4. Slide the slide bar all the way to the right to confirm Panic 
  5. Once a panic is triggered the user will notice a pink boarder around their screen, along with a panic notification 
    1. An App user's location will only be tracked during an Active Panic Incident where that app user is the initiator 
    2. The App User's location will be sent with the panic notification if they have location tracking enabled

Please Note:
  1. A virtual user cannot acknowledge their own panic, but they can resolve it
  2. App users on iOS with live audio enabled will not hear an audible confirmation when their panic has been acknowledged.
